Hebburn housing is mostly interwar and postwar, with a good deal of former colliery terracing around the older end of town and newer estates towards Monkton and Wardley. The terraces almost always have an original chimney breast, which is good news, but the stacks were built for open coal fires and are far too wide for a modern appliance.
That means a liner on nearly every job. The chimney is usually sound enough structurally, so it is rarely a big building job, but it does need lining properly to draw and to avoid tar. The newer estates are the opposite problem: no stack at all, so a twin wall system is the route.
Being local genuinely matters here. If something needs looking at after the job, we are minutes away rather than an hour up the A1.
