South Shields seafront and the streets behind it are largely Victorian and Edwardian terracing. Big rooms, tall stacks, and a lot of exposure to weather off the sea. Those stacks need lining, and they often need a decent cowl on top, because an exposed stack on the coast will take downdraft on a bad day.
Boldon and the newer Cleadon estates are the opposite. Plenty of them were built without a chimney, so the answer is a twin wall system routed through the property. That is more of a design job than a lining job, and where it goes matters as much for how it looks as how it draws.
Then there is the older stone property out towards Cleadon and Whitburn, where the chimney breasts can be substantial and opening the chamber up is a proper building job. That is the sort of work that gets subcontracted elsewhere. We do it ourselves.
